Getting Patients Pain Free & Back To Normal Movement

Suitable for most people including post-surgery and aged patients through to children and elite athletes.

Trish Wisbey-Roth

trish Trish Wisbey-Roth is known for her expertise in the management and treatment of musculo-skeletal problems with emphasis on spinal stabilisation (cervical and low-back) and functional progression of core stability. A physiotherapist with over 20 years experience, Trish has completed both a Sports Physiotherapy Masters at the AIS Canberra and Post Graduate Manipulative therapy training in the Kaltenbourne/Evyenth system. She became a Titled Sports Physiotherapist in 1999 and has been an Olympic Physiotherapist since 1996.

Trish is a leader in designing and progressing functional stability programs both for the upper body and the lower-back pelvis/hip area. She has pioneered the design of simple and effective, repeatable treatments to optimise the three dimensional biomechanics of the spine. Trish has worked closely with the National and NSW cycling squads having toured with Australian Cycling for 10 years to National, International and Olympic events. During this time Trish developed a considerable understanding of the treatment and biomechanical setup of cyclists and optimising rider biomechanics. Her experience with elite athletes in various disciplines stretches from gymnastics through to hockey. She has acted as Assistant Co-ordinator for the Commonwealth Games Polyclinic Games Village in Melbourne and as Headquarters Physiotherapist for the Australian Olympic team at the Sydney Olympics in 2000.

As an educator, Trish lectures extensively in the areas of diagnosis and rehabilitation of the lumbar-pelvic and hip region with an emphasis on simple, effective and understandable exercise prescription for both the therapist and the patient. One of her training highlights has been working with the Greek physiotherapy association on manual assessments, therapy and treatment techniques of the spine and pelvis.

Trish’s profile as a perfectionist and tireless campaigner for long-term, repeatable and effective rehabilitation practice has led her to create the BOUNCE back Spinal Strength and Stability System for physiotherapists. The program, which can be incorporated into almost any physiotherapy practice, is based on Trish's core stability grading system and designed for anyone wanting to improve their core strength and control. Her goal as a practitioner and educator is to improve both therapist and patient knowledge of the biomechanics of the spine, how muscles work to stabilise joints and how to optimise muscle function and control. Trish prefers to encourage patients to become self-reliant, giving them the confidence to understand their particular issues and then develop a structured program to self-manage for long-term improvement. Her busy Take-Control practice at Oatley specialises in the treatment and functional muscle re-education and stability re-training of spinal problems in both the neck and lower back. Take-Control has patients being referred from all backgrounds and parts of Australia.
